Laser Screed Floors

We use the latest Somero SXP laser screed machinery (http://www.somero.com/)to construct floors by large pour methods in combination with our highly skilled workforce.

A range of reinforcement options can be provided in conjunction with the laser screed to construct up to 3000m2 per pour.

Working to TR34 (2003) free movement flatness tolerances FM1, FM2 (special), FM2, and FM3 are provided dependant on the use.

Linear tolerances (defined movement) such as DM1, Category 1, & Category 2, required for high bay racking, are also achieved incorporating the laser screed large pour methods to maximise productivity.

Traditional Flooring Methods

At Malin as well as utilising the laser screed machinery we also retain a high skill set of manually laying concrete slabs by hand screeding to achieve high tolerances.

Free movement tolerances (FM2 (special) or FM2) on large pours are generally provided, and we can also provide defined movement tolerances such as superflat & category 1 in narrow bays.

Using our fast pour system areas laid flat and/or to falls can be continually constructed to provide large pours.

Still applying the large pour techniques hand constructed slabs of 1500m2+ can be installed to ground floors, upper floors, and external yard slabs.

Where access or construction restrictions limit the use of laser screed, we can still achieve the highest specifications available.

Design & Install

Where suitable we can provide a full design & warranty solution backed by our PI insurance and that of our consultants.

We source designs from consultants having an extensive history specifically in the design of concrete flooring and also with long working relationships with Malin.

In addition to our management combined 50years+ of concrete flooring experience we can provide the most suitable solution for any application.

A full range of services can be provided from initial design proposal to full calculations, and ultimately as built drawings and maintenance manuals.

Where a full design is not required we can also provide assistance and suggestions to find the quickest, most economical solution.

Dry Shake Toppings

We use the latest technology Topp&Screed TS-5000 (http://toppandscreed.com/) for mechanical application of dry shake toppings and can also provide this to hand laid slabs by Tremix spreader or hand application.

We can also provide design assistance in the specification of materials for a range of uses such as;

  • Fibre Suppressant aid for slabs incorporating steel fibre reinforcement.
  • To aid achievement of Abrasion resistance requirements such as AR special & AR1.
  • For aesthetic qualities where a range of colours can be provided.

Steel Arris Joint Installation

A range of joints are provided dependent on the nature of application ranging from basic temporary timber formwork to specialist edge shuttering and permanent steel arris protection.

For use of jointless slabs and warehouses typically a full depth section of permanent is installed to
