 DESCRIPTION OF WORKS:

Malin were employed to provide the complete slabs package on a labour & plant basis.  Starting with blindings, including laser screed & topping slabs, through to upper floors we provided a large range of services pouring a total of 27,000m3 concrete.

Machine Bases
Hand laying of 50mm thick lean mix concrete blinding prior to setting up of the pours. Installing concrete machine bases upto 1.05m deep by undertaking multiple bases in single pours, the biggest of which was a pour of 1750m3 to 3 bases (see picture attached), utilising 4 concrete pumps (one on standby) and 50 Concrete trucks to achieve completion in 12hours.  A total of circa 35,000m2 was constructed to bases in multiple layers to make upto level.

Laser Screed Floor
Approximately 50,000m2 of 310mm deep slabs laid using Somero laser screed reinforced with 40kg/m3 of ArcelorMittal Tabix 1/60+ fibres which were added on site using conveyors after the addition of a superplasticiser.  Joints were formed using Permaban strip joint fixed to temporary timber formwork fixed and prop supported into position.  A Sika fibre suppressant dry shake topping was also added by top&screed TS5000 topping spreader at a dosage of circa 3kg/m2 to aid the suppression of fibres from the slab surface. A powerfloat finish was provided to a tolerance of TR34 (2003) FM2 (special) independently tested to demonstrate achievement.  The works were completed in a total of 36pours.

Upper Floor Slabs
5,000m2 of concrete slabs to Kingspan MD60 metal decking (fixed by others) was constructed by hand application reinforced with a single layer of A252 mesh and perimeter U bar reinforcement.  The works work completed in 5pours.
